Medical Massage: A Natural Way to Heal Your Body

Medical massage is a form of massage therapy that is specifically designed to treat medical conditions. It can be used to relieve pain, improve circulation, and help the body heal from injuries.

How Does Medical Massage Work?

Medical massage works by applying pressure and manipulation to the soft tissues of the body, such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. This can help release tension, reduce inflammation, and stimulate the natural healing process of the body. Medical massage can also enhance the function of the nervous system, the immune system, and the digestive system.

We also provide a comfortable and relaxing environment for your massage session, with clean and cozy room, soothing music, and aromatherapy.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage:

Manual lymphatic massage is performed by a Certified Lymphedema Therapist at our clinic.  This is a gentle form of massage using rhythmic light pressure strokes that help relieve swelling in your body. MLD is also great at assisting the healing process after a surgery or plastic surgery.

It may help boost immune system functions, clear excess waste products, break down fibrosis, improve mood/energy, decrease pain and discomfort, and more.

We treat Lymphedema, Lipedema, and Lymphatic related conditions using Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT), MLD massage, compression therapy, exercise prescription, self-care education and other modalities as needed.

DO YOU HAVE SWELLING?

Did you know all edema has a lymphatic component, but not all edema is lymphedema.

  • Our Lymphatic System is a large part of our immune system and plays a role to attack foreign pathogens and toxins.  It also helps our body maintain fluid balance and remove cellular waste products.  The Lymphatic System has vessels in the digestive tract which help us digest fats.

  • Lymphedema is a swelling that is a result of the abnormal accumulation of protein rich edema fluid in the affected areas.

  • Are you having difficulty with your Lymphatic System? Or not sure? It is so important to get quality care using a standardized approach as soon as possible!

  • We see individuals experiencing Lymphedema, Lipedema, Chronic Venous insufficiency (CVI), Breast Cancer treatment complications, Post surgical procedures, pain, Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, skin issues, chronic inflammation, autoimmune diseases, migraines, ear pain, and more.
